A Not So Boring Dystopia: COVID-19

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, which, honestly, may have been the smart thing to do, you are aware we are in the midst of a pandemic. COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new coronavirus strain that began spreading in people in December 2019. A lot of governments are at least recommending social distancing, so maybe go back to that rock you were hiding under.

Just don’t all hide under the same rock

In the wake of COVID-19 people have been hoarding toilet paper, hand sanitizer and now food seems to be next on the list. I’m concerned that mass panic will take over and food will be scarce. I’m concerned about my partners who live away from me. Hell, I was looking to move soon and now that has to wait. It’s so frustrating.

Memes are one of the things keeping me going right now. Meme culture is always willing to make fun of the terrible in order to help us cope and, as someone with a morbid since of humor, it helps! I even have a few memes to share with all of you.

I would definitely suggest practicing self care during this time. That could look like playing video games, working on a new hobby or taking a bath. Some people clean, some garden, and some focus on others by volunteering. Focus on what you can control, which is way easier said than done. Whether you have to work, have always been a hermit, or are struggling without being around people, we will get through this moment. I have hope that humanity can be there for each other.

An Isolated Gender-Fucked Socialist Demon

I wanted to keep this blog short today. With everything going on, I’m sure you all have heard enough about COVID-19. So, any movie or game recommendations for this demon? Please comment anything good you’ve played or watched recently. I’m good with just about every genre, just no jumpscare ones. Blame my extreme startle response/childhood for that one, haha.

Also, does anyone else keep thinking COVID looks like CORVID? Maybe it is my sick sense of humor but I vote to start calling it CORVID-19. I love corvids and feel like they really capture this plague-like setting the world seems to be in.
